Aaron Lloyd-Goodwin
Founder & CEO
Who are you?
My name is Aaron & I am the founder of Chelsea Golf Club.
Favourite quote?
“If you’d asked the people what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse” - Henry Ford
How did you first get into golf?
I don't remember when I first played golf and have always enjoyed a 'hack' with friends. I probably played once a year until Covid happened. With nothing else to do, I finally started having some lessons and would find myself ‘machine gunning’ balls down at the range, undoing all the good work I was doing in my lessons. After trying to blame clubs, spending lots of money on new ones and realising it wasn't the clubs’ fault, I started using a TrackMan. Fast forward a few months of research, and Chelsea Golf Club was born. Our aim is to help people of all abilities enjoy golf, in a convenient location, using the best technology on the market.
Where is your favourite course you've ever played?
While I haven't played many, The Grove is definitely one I have enjoyed playing.
What are you enjoying most about CGC?
Hearing the positive feedback at the club and getting to learn every day about how we can improve the space and make it better.
What did you do before CGC?
The majority of my working life has been in the sponsorship and general fundraising world. The last full time job I had before CGC was working for W Series, the women's only racing series. I then helped my mother to launch her company, before things got more full on with "Caddishack", as the business was initially called.
